In “Afrodescendants” (2020), I present young European migrants of African descent living in Lisbon, who belong to the generation after the Carnation Revolution. I questioned myself about these descendants, children, or even grandchildren of repatriated Africans who grew up in Europe. What is the place of colonial heritage in their memory and cosmopolitan life? To what extent are their African roots present in their daily lives? Through this project, I problematized identity, racism, and the violence they constantly face. This work was made for the collective exhibition “EUROPA OXALÁ”
